Lewis Eady Junior Music Contest for Piano, 2022

Across two weekends in November and December, over 240 young pianists participated in the 2022 Lewis Eady Junior Music Contest (LEJMC) for Piano. Our two adjudicators, Teresa De Vries and Irena Angelovska, were extremely impressed with the efforts of all participants.

We are delighted to announce that the winner of the 2022 Lewis Eady Cup for most promising pianist, and the The Robyn Marie Wilson Award, is Henry Wang.

We also congratulate the 13 recipients of the Irene Rhodes Beck Award for 2022: Nora Qu, Ruilin Yang, Amelia Zhang-Shu, Teresa Zhang, Aidan Huang, Wenxin Li, Kaden Chen, Zihan (James) Wei, Charlotte Zhao, Christina Gu, Johnny Zhao, Henry Wang, and Chloe Kang.

One Irene Rhodes Beck Award is awarded at each session of the contest to recognise a performer with an 'X-factor' ability to communicate the joy of music-making.

The LEJMC is open to all primary and intermediate school children. Applications for the 2023 Contest will open in April 2023.
