Lewis Eady Junior Music Contest for Piano is a performance opportunity for primary and intermediate-aged children at all levels of musical achievement.
The contest allows young musicians to gain confidence and valuable performance experience.

Contest Rules & Entry Conditions
1. All entrants in the LEJMC must be of primary or intermediate school age, i.e. up to year 8.
2. Performances are of one piece only, with a maximum performance time of 4 minutes.
3. The contest programme will be available online before the competition date. Please note the relevant day, session time, and performance number. The utmost effort will be made to adhere to session and break times.
AWARDS
4. Gold, Silver and Bronze Award certificates will be presented to deserving performers at the end of every session.
5. The Irene Rhodes-Beck Memorial Award for Piano will be awarded to the performer(s) with an 'X-factor' ability to communicate the joy of music-making.
6. The Robyn Marie Wilson Award is made to the most promising pianist.
7. The Lewis Eady Piano Cup will be awarded to the most promising pianist overall.
The contest adjudicators provide constructive and encouraging written comments for all performances.
CONTEST DAY
8. Each pianist must register on arrival. A photocopy of the performer's music is to be submitted at registration. Clearly mark this with "adjudicator's copy" and the relevant session and performance number.
9. Performers must be ready and seated at the venue before the session start time.
10. Each performer must introduce their performance by announcing: their name, how long they've been learning the piano, and the title of their piece.
11. Adjudicator report sheets will be made available for collection at the end of each session. Adjudicators will assess stage presentation, technique, interpretation, musicality, and the performance in relation to the performer's experience.
CONSENT
12. Entrants consent to their photos and videos being taken during the LEJMC, and allow CLEF (Chiron Lewis Eady Foundation) full rights to use this content for promotional, fundraising, publicity or other purposes on print and digital channels, including the CLEF website and social media.
OTHER
13. Any copies of music made for adjudication purposes will be retained by LEJMC and destroyed after the Contest.
14. Any unclaimed awards, report sheets and original music, along with any lost property, will be retained for collection for one month only following the Contest.
